Angelica

Angelica

Angelica is a genus of aromatic plants that belongs to the Apiaceae family, which is also known as the carrot or parsley family. The genus Angelica contains several species, with Angelica archangelica being one of the most well-known and widely used.

Angelica plants are herbaceous perennials and can grow quite tall, often reaching heights of up to 6 feet or more. They have large, compound leaves and produce umbrella-like clusters of small, white or greenish-white flowers during their blooming season.

The most common species, Angelica archangelica, is native to northern and western Europe, and it is known for its culinary and medicinal uses. It’s worth noting that while Angelica archangelica has culinary and medicinal uses, not all species of Angelica are safe for consumption or have the same beneficial properties. As with any herbal remedy, caution and knowledge of the specific species are essential when using Angelica for medicinal purposes.

If considering using Angelica for its medicinal properties, it’s best to consult with a qualified herbalist or healthcare professional.
